Hi, beauties! I’m so glad our paths have crossed. My name is Malena, the founder & owner of Unfiltered Skin. In a world that constantly tells us to edit, filter, and refine ourselves to meet an ever-changing standard of beauty, I wanted to create a space that says something different. A space where people can come as they are acne, texture, scars and all with no shame. That’s what Unfiltered Skin was built on, the belief that authentic beauty isn’t achieved by chasing trends or conforming to ideals. It’s found when you stop filtering yourself and start honoring who you truly are.

My relationship with beauty started long before I knew what to call it. As a dancer from the age of two, I was immersed in artistry, performance, and self-expression. That creative passion led me to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and spend over 12 years as a professional dancer & performer. But somewhere along the way, my love of artistry evolved into something deeper, a desire to help people feel at home in their own skin.

That calling led me to become a Licensed Esthetician & Certified Acne Specialist. And it’s a role I take seriously, because I know firsthand how complicated our relationship with our skin and ourselves can be. I’ve navigated acne, eczema, sensitivity, and the quiet weight of feeling like my skin wasn’t good enough. I’ve felt the pressure of beauty standards that were never designed with real people in mind. And I’ve done the work through education, self-care, and honest self-reflection to find my way back to confidence and self-acceptance.

That journey is why I do what I do. Because being unfiltered isn’t a flaw, it’s the whole point.
